They had three children Karen (Mike) McGarvey of Moscow, Joyce (John) Anderson of Spokane and Kenneth (Judy) Nearing of Lewiston. In addition to raising their own children they were foster parents.
Guy was involved in Grange, Mission Springs 4-H as a leader, and was an auctioneer for many years. After selling the dairy, he developed land on his property known as the Nearing Addition. He and Verla enjoyed camping, fishing and traveling. They also spent several years as the tour directors for the Idaho Road Runners. His hobbies included singing, painting landscapes, cooking, playing pinochle and spending time with his family and friends. Throughout his 91 years Bud touched many lives and had a big impact on all who knew him.
