Kenneth E. Zimmerman, 89, died Monday July 9, 2018 at Bishop Place senior living in Pullman, WA.
Ken was born on July 21, 1928. In West Yellowstone, Montana to Jess and Effie Zimmerman.
Ken moved to Ketchum in 1939. He graduated from Hailey High School in 1946 and studied photography at the University of Maryland in Baltimore following high school. In 1950, Ken joined the Army where he was on the ski team in Garmisch, Germany. On returning he attended Grimes School of Business, in Pocatello then taught skiing for 25 years before becoming Mountain Manager. During summers he worked on the Sun Valley golf course. He was Greens Superintendent until 2010, helping transition from 9 to 18 holes. More recently he was involved in the construction of White Clouds Golf Course. In May of 2010 he retired after 70 years with Sun Valley.
Ken is survived by his wife of 63 years, Roberta Grant Zimmerman and a son, Martin J. Zimmerman of Moscow.
At his request there will be no service.
