On Monday, May 6, 2019, Russ Line of Deary, ID, beloved son, partner, dad, grandpa/papa, brother, and friend, passed away at the age of 53 after a yearlong battle with cancer.
Russ was born on April 5, 1966, in Moscow to Bob Line and Nancy Million Line. Russ graduated from Moscow Senior High School in 1984. Russ began his career as an automotive body and paint technician at Roff Ford in Moscow. Russ then worked for Wally Orvik Motors, later called All Star, in Moscow, and also began driving tow truck for his dad at Bob Line Towing. Russ went on to purchase the family towing business. Later, Russ began working for Auto Body Super Center in Moscow and then Pullman. In 2012 Russ purchased Auto Body Super Center in Deary, which he owned and operated until his passing. Russ took great pride in his business and work, and was known for his attention to detail and skill when it came to automotive repair.
In 1985 Russ married Terri Booth. They welcomed three children together – Tara Line, Cody Line, and Cali Line. Russ later met his longtime partner Patsy Whitcomb, who he shared the last fifteen years of his life with. Russ was a doting grandpa/papa to his granddaughters as well as to Patsy’s grandchildren. He enjoyed spoiling the grandkids and was their biggest cheerleader.
Russ was known by all for his big heart and willingness to always help others. These characteristics were not only reflected in his personal life with friends and family, but also in his professional life with his employees and customers.
Russ was an outdoorsman who enjoyed spending his free time hunting, riding ATVs and snowmobiles, camping, fishing, and boating. Russ’s family and friends were always treated to big meals, cold beers, and endless entertainment around the campfire while camping with Russ.
Russ is survived by his mom Nancy Lytle, his partner Patsy Whitcomb, his children Tara Line, Cody (Shea) Line, and Cali Line, his granddaughters Makenzie Line-Staley, Keasling Line, and expectant granddaughter Colbeigh Fryslie, and his brother Alan (Shari) Line. Russ was preceded in death by his father Bob Line.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, May 19, 2019, starting at 1:00 p.m. at the Community Center in Deary.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Jackson’s Pay it Forward Foundation.
Russ’s family would like to thank Dr. Midence and the nursing team at the Cancer Care Center in Lewiston for their care of Russ over the past year.
