Sister Maura Murphy, 89, Moscow
Sister Maura Murphy, osu, (baptismal name----Mona Mary Murphy) was a member of the Ursuline Sisters of the Roman Union. She peacefully answered the call of God to “come home” on Sunday, June 10, 2018, at Good Samaritan where she had been a resident for two years.
A vigil service at 7:45 a.m. will precede the Mass of the Resurrection at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 20. It will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church, 618 East First in Moscow with Rev. Joseph McDonald as celebrant. Following Mass there will be a breakfast reception to which all are invited.
Sister Maura was born on March 26, 1929 in San Francisco, CA. Her parents were Patrick Murphy from Ireland and Ramona Daley from San Francisco. Sister Maura had only one sibling, a brother named John, who was a priest of the Archdiocese of San Francisco. Sister Maura was the last of her family, all others preceded her in death. Since Sister Maura spent much of her Ursuline life in California, burial will be in the Ursuline Sisters plot in Santa Rosa California.
