Audrey L. Morgan

October 29, 1965 — October 9, 2025

Audrey Lynne Parkes Morgan was born in Moscow, ID to Jim and Donna Parkes on October 29, 1965 and made a much anticipated and spectacular entrance into the world. Much to her mother’s discomfort she was an overdue breech baby. When the Doctor decided it was time for her to be born he instructed his nurse to drive her mom to the hospital. Unfortunately, the nurse did not know how to drive a stickshift car. Through all the jerking motion of the car driving from the north side of main street to the south side, Audrey turned around and was safely delivered!

Her childhood was spent growing up just outside of Moscow on Youmans Lane. Many adventures were had around the neighborhood from playing with the neighborhood kids every night until dark, snowmobiling in the winter right outside the front door, swimming and boating at Coeur D’Alene lake, and camping all over the Pacific Northwest and Canada. During this time she also learned to bowl, a life long hobby. Her childhood was filled with fun and adventure.

Audrey graduated from Moscow High School in 1984, and has kept in touch with many of her high school friends. After graduation, Audrey went on to work at Gritman Medical Center in the surgery department, got married to Robert (Bob) Morgan of Potlatch and had two wonderful boys Cody and Colton. During this time, she moved to Harvard, ID and continued employment at Nirk's Archery and finally worked for Potlatch School District as one of the “lunch ladies”. As a cook for the school district, she knew every student and every student knew her. She loved supporting not only her own boys and nieces and nephews, but all the other students at the school sporting events and activities in and around the area.

Not one to sit idle, Audrey always had a second job. She worked for many years as a cook/bartender at the Hoo Doo in Harvard, but her favorite job was being a beekeeper and honey extractor for Harvard Honeybees. She was in her element learning about bees.

In the Spring of 2012, she met Jim Pagel of Potlatch and they spent the last 13 years together in a relationship filled with immense love and joy. After her mother passed away, Audrey and Jim moved back to Moscow to her childhood home where they spent their years together sprucing up the property which Audrey truly cherished. She became the orchestrator for most family events. Her love of cooking never left her and she continued to cook, bake, and host family gatherings several times a month. She was so happy to see her extended family blessed by not only her cooking skills but also her joy of shopping and gift giving for others. In the last four years her greatest joy was babysitting her two grandchildren which gave her the opportunity to do what any grandma would do – spoil them absolutely rotten, which Michelle jokes not once did she have to buy an article of clothing.

Her other hobbies included arts and crafts, Legos, traveling, photography and the Seahawks.

Audrey is survived by her sons, Cody (Michelle) Morgan of Moscow, and Colton Morgan of Colorado. Her two beautiful grandchildren that she loved more than life, Ethan and Jade Philomena Morgan. The love of her life Jim Pagel and her heartbroken dog Olivia. Bonus children Cody and Justin (Krista) Pagel and bonus grandchildren Anabell and “Chuck”. Sisters and brothers in law Kelly and Dan Smith and Sue and Neal Gernert and her numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews who are forever grateful for the love and care their Aunt Audi showered on them.

A celebration of a life well lived will be held in the spring of 2026.
