Barbara F. Hisel, of Moscow, died Monday July 1, 2019 in Deary. She was 94.
Barb was born on July 18, 1924 in Manson, WA to Harold and Opal Fort. She attended School in Manson and graduated from Manson High School in 1942. After taking a couple years off Barb decided to go back to school and attended Washington State College earning a degree in Home Economics. She later met Ken Hisel and they were married on August 10, 1952 in Manson. Barb and Ken made their home in Moscow where they raised their two children, Jay and Mark.
Barb worked for Washington Water Power and later Moscow Electric before going to work at the University of Idaho where she retired in 1984. Ken was active with the Moscow Fire Department and Barb supported him in all his endeavors there. She was active in her church, United Church of Moscow, and Habitat for Humanity. She also enjoyed knitting and gardening.
Barb was preceded in death by her husband Ken in 1996 and, and son Jay in 1993. She is survived by her son Mark of Deary.
A graveside service for Barb will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday July 9, 2019 at the Moscow Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to the Moscow Volunteer Fire Department.
