She taught high school English after returning to Genesee in 1954 and continued to substitute teach over the years. She and Tom began full time farming where she made "thousands of lunches" and helped with the farming operation. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, was a Blue Bird and Campfire Leader, served on the board of the Genesee Community Church for several years and was active in the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed oil painting and took many lessons. She served on the State of Idaho Parks and Recreation Board, was a "Legis-Lady" as Tom served in the Idaho House of Representatives. She enjoyed sporting events that involved her children and grandchildren and always remained her "children's conscious". Surviving are her son Jeff (Rindi) Boyd of Genesee and daughters, Lisa Boyd-Anderson (Jay) of Genesee and Tracy (Pete) Greco of Wasilla, Alaska. She also leaves six grandchildren and two great grandchildren and a sister, Sandra K. Blair of Lewiston. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Tom, in 2015 and her adoptive father, Robert E. Berger in 1969. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM Friday, March 30, 2018 at the Genesee Community Church. Pastor Adam Bentley will officiate and burial will follow at the Genesee City Cemetery. A luncheon and time of fellowship will be at the Genesee Fire Hall afterward. Viewing will be at Short's Funeral Chapel on Thursday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The family suggests memorials be made to the Genesee Community Church Memorial Fund or to the Genesee Ambulance Fund.
