Brianna Stangeland

Brianna Renee Stangeland of Moscow died Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at her home. She was 24. Brianna was born October 20, 1989 at San Louis Obispo, CA, the daughter of Caryn Stangeland and Keith Schachtell. She attended school at Atascadero, CA. She lived at San Louis Obispo and Atascadero until moving to Moscow in May of 2013 to be near family. She worked at Tri-State in Moscow and was recently employed by Best Western-University Inn in the catering department. Brianna enjoyed spending time with friends and family, especially holiday gatherings and loved her animals. Surviving are her mother, Caryn Stangeland, of Potlatch, her father, Keith Schachtell of Los Angeles, CA, her grandparents, Larry and Clara Leppelman of Potlatch and George and Crystal Schachtell in California. She also leaves her sisters, Natasha and Payton and a brother Vinnie as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Short's Funeral Chapel in Moscow. A reception will follow and will be announced. The family suggests memorials be made in Brianna's name to the Humane Society of the Palouse or to a charity of choice.
