Bryan Johnson

Bryan Wayne Johnson, lifelong area resident, lost his short battle with cancer Sunday January 15, 2017, in Moscow, surrounded by his family and beloved pets. He was 42. Bryan was born April 16, 1974 in Moscow to Gary and Lorrayne Olesen Johnson. He grew up in Troy and graduated from Troy high school in 1992. During high school he worked for Eddie Swanson and Ole Hanson on their farms. He attended North Idaho College after high school and became a certified welder in 1993. After college Bryan went to work for Pete Abbott as a welder. He later went to work for the University of Idaho where he worked for over 15 years in the welding shop and later in maintenance, before his love of farming called him back. Bryan had been farming out of Prescott, WA for the last several years, prior to getting sick. In April of 1997 Bryan married Cindy Banks. Bryan and Cindy were best friends. She cared for him to his passing. Bryan was a devoted father, husband, friend, son and brother, and will be missed by all who knew him. He was an avid farmer and certified welder, and loved snowmobiling, four wheeling, boating and fishing, but most of all he loved to help others and always made himself available to those in need. Bryan is survived by his life partner, Cindy Banks Johnson, children Wade Johnson, Jake and Ashly Banks, parents Gary and Lorrayne Johnson, of Yuma, Arizona, sister Cindy Lepre Johnson, of Long Beach, CA, his grandmother, Eleanor Olesen of Moscow, nephews Marko Lepre, Zach (Kelly) Gilder, Brayden Nichols, niece Caitlin Nichols, his in-laws Butch and Nolene Banks, sister-in-law Shannon (Jeff) DeMeerleer, Uncles Wayne (Carol) Ken (Jayne) Olesen PJ (Tom) Hudson, Linda Ward Johnson and Denny (Linda) Johnson and many many cousins. Bryan was preceded in death by his Uncle Darrell Johnson, his grandfather William Olesen, grandparents, Jean and Arcadius Johnson and cousin Michael Coffin. Our family would like to thank the community both locally and in Prescott, WA for all their support. Bryan asked for a celebration of his "Happy Hours" and his party will be from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM Friday, January 20th at the Latah County Fairgrounds Building. So drive your trucks and tractors, wear your best farm attire, represent your favorite football team (as long as it's the Cowboys!), or your "Team Johnson" shirt. SEE YOU THERE!
