Carol Jean (Halseth) Meserve of Deary died Saturday January 7, 2017 at Holy Family Hospital in Spokane. She was 69. Carol was born August 19, 1947 in Moscow to Melvin C. and Myrtle A. Carmen Halseth. She grew up and attended school in Deary, graduating from high school there. She worked as Deputy City Clerk for Deary for many years, and later for Magnuson Insurance. She and Robert Meserve, Jr. were married on January 9, 1987 at Kauai, Hawaii. Carol enjoyed outdoors, working in her flower gardens, small collectibles, writing poetry and most of all spending time with her family, following their grandkids sporting and other activities. She and Bob also enjoyed traveling. Surviving are her husband, Bob, at their Deary home and their children, Paula Brown of Lewiston, Dina (Bryan) Inman of Kendrick, Ted (Raquel) Pederson, Jr. of Lewiston and Darcy (Josh) Anderson of Deary. She also leaves twelve grandchildren and three great grandchildren as well as sisters, Shirley (Ed) McKinney of Ontario, OR and Myrna DeBerry of Dallas, TX and a brother, Ron (Cherrie) Halseth of Deary. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Tona (Pederson) Capps and Dawna Pederson. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 14, 2017 at the Moscow Church of the Nazarene. Pastor Jared Donigian of the Deary Community Bible Church and Pastor Steve McKinney (her nephew) will officiate. Burial will follow at Zion Lutheran Cemetery near Deary and a potluck dinner will follow at the Deary Community Center. The family suggests memorials be made to the Deary Ambulance Fund.
