Carolyn M. Flodin

Carolyn Marie Flodin passed away on Friday, May 15th ,2026 surrounded by the love of her family. 

She was born to Arthur F and Dorothy (Reed) Kentoph on April 7,1940 in Spokane, Washington. She married Richard “Dick” Flodin on January 20, 1958. Dick and Carol lived in Colfax for a period of time, during which they welcomed their three children, Linda, Rick and Tammy. The family moved to Genesee, ID in March of 1969.

Carolyn was devoted to her family. When her children were young she was a Bluebird/Campfire leader and a Cub Scout leader. She loved going on road trips (many with daughter Tammy), playing bingo and camping. She was very involved with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, attending many sporting events over the years. Carolyn and Dick shared 68 years of marriage and dedication to family. They loved having everyone over for family functions and visiting about how everyone was doing, what activities the kids were involved in, and reminiscing on memories, the details of which they could recall from decades ago.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Dorothy, sisters Marjorie Moss (Norman), Arlene Cornell (Vic), Mable Kimble (Lowell), Nancy Wilkinson, brother Arthur “Butch” Kentoph and grandson Josh Bennett.

She is survived by her husband Richard Flodin, sister Linda Kentoph of Lakeland Village, daughter Linda Aherin (Pat), son Rick Flodin and daughter Tammy Bennett all of Genesee. She is also survived by 3 grandsons Colby Aherin, great granddaughter Kayleigh Benton (Eric) and great-great grandchildren Brodi, Booker and Austin. Jesse Aherin (Jamie) and great grandchildren Easton and Ashlynn. Jerry Bennett (Joni) and great-grandchildren Sarah and Willow. Great grandchild Zura (Josh’s daughter). All who will carry on her memory.

Viewing will be held at Short’s Funeral Chapel, located at 1225 East 6th Street in Moscow, Idaho, on May 21, 2026 from 2:00-5:00 PM. The funeral service will be held at Short’s Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, May 26th at 11:00 with burial following at the Genesee City Cemetery. A gathering and food will be at the Genesee Senior Center following burial.
