Charles D. "Denny" Deobald

Charles Dennis "Denny" Deobald of Harvard, ID died of natural causes Wednesday, October 22, 2014 while logging near Elk City, ID. He was 63. Denny was born April 15, 1951 at Moscow to Charles E. and Bette Oylear Deobald. He grew up and attended school at Kendrick, graduating from Kendrick High School in 1969. He attended a trade school in Wyoming and then went to Alaska to log. He and Pam Shane were married and had a daughter, Cristy who was born in 1981. They later divorced. Denny returned to the Kendrick area to log and assist with the family ranch. In 1989 he married Nancy at their home in Lewiston. And in 1996 they settled to Harvard where he continued to log and raise cattle on the family ranch. In recent years, he enjoyed family vacations to Oregon coast, seeing his daughter excel in her pursuits and learning to be a grandpa - those grandboys brought a special joy to his life. Other hobbies included riding his Harley, trapshooting and reloading. He was also a talented mechanic and always enjoyed his "cows". Denny was a member of the American Angus Association, Harley Owner's Group (HOG) and the National Rifle Association. Surviving are his wife, Nancy, at their Harvard home, his daughter Cristy Deobald in Vancouver, WA and his son, Kevin (Nicole) Jones and his grandsons, Oliver and Quinn in Seattle along with his father, Charlie Deobald in Kendrick. He was preceded in death by his mother in 1981, and his brother, Jed Deobald in 1987. A celebration of life is planned for Sunday, October 26, 2014 from 12:30 to 3:00 P.M. at the Harvard Hall. A private burial will be at American Ridge Cemetery later. The family suggests memorials be made to the Inland Northwest Honor Flight for WWII Veterans.
