Connie Lynn Stanton, 71, passed away peacefully at her home on May 25, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Connie was born on April 10, 1955, in Portland, Oregon, to Marvin and Shirley Cooper. She spent much of her youth in Washington and graduated from Wilson High School in Tacoma. She later earned an associate degree in Electrical Engineering from Tacoma Community College, a notable achievement at a time when few women pursued careers in the engineering field.

Connie enjoyed a successful career as a telecommunications design engineer, where she was respected for her technical expertise, dedication, and strong work ethic. She retired in 1998 and embraced the opportunity to spend more time with family, friends, and the hobbies she loved.

An avid bowler throughout her life, Connie found both joy and camaraderie in the sport. She proudly competed in the US Bowling Championships every year beginning in 2008, creating lasting friendships and memories along the way. Her competitive spirit, determination, and enthusiasm were evident both on and off the lanes.

When Connie wasn't bowling, she spent time in her garden, harvesting homegrown raspberries and making her famous jam. She cherished time with her many friends and had a lifelong love of the water. Whether visiting the ocean, spending time on the Puget Sound, or enjoying a day of boating, she found peace and happiness near the water. Some of her happiest moments were spent watching and photographing beautiful sunsets, appreciating the beauty and tranquility of the world around her.

Connie held a deep belief that life extends beyond our time on earth. She found comfort and conviction in accounts of near death and out of body experiences, believing that our earthly existence is only one part of a much larger journey. Her family takes comfort in knowing that she viewed her passing not as an ending, but as a transition. They believe she has moved on from this temporary world and is now free from the burdens of her earthly body, at peace and continuing her journey in a better place.

Connie is survived by her beloved spouse, Mark; her son, Ben Stanton, and daughter-in-law, Sarah Stanton; and her cherished grandchildren, Jayden, Caine, and Lincoln. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Shirley Cooper, and her first husband, Rodney Stanton.

In accordance with Connie's wishes, no formal services will be held. Her family takes comfort in the many memories they shared and in the love Connie brought to all who knew her.
