Dawn L Britt

It is with great sorrow that we say goodbye to one of the most amazing and beautiful women to grace the world with her presence, Dawn Britt (Nowling) was born in Lewiston, ID on July 16th, 1957 to Allen and Phyllis Nowling.

Dawn attended elementary school in Lewiston but graduated from Palouse High School in 1975. Her first job was bucking bales in the summer; she also worked on Orcas Island at Rosarios. She was hired at Bennett Lumber Company in Princeton Id in 1976 in the shipping area. She was the first woman hired in the mill and took great pride in her work.

In 1987 she married Earl Britt in Potlatch, ID and became a loving mother to Shelly Kenney and Tammy O’Brien. Dawn had many hobbies including riding horses, gardening, and spending time with her family. She was involved with the Gold Hill Resource Coalition and Secretary of the Inland Empire Dry Kiln Association.

She is survived by her husband Earl Britt of Potlatch, ID. Daughter’s Shelly Kenney of Pullman, WA, and Tammy O’Brien of Lynnwood, WA. Grandson’s Devin Kenney, Jacob Britt, Michael Kilborn and Nicholas Kilborn. Sister’s Debbie Eastman and Denise Reece. Niece’s, Sarah Noble and Jay Dee Lucas and nephew Sam Eastman.

A memorial service is planned for 10:00a.m. August 16, 2025 at Short's Funeral Chapel.
