Deanna Lynn Wilks, longtime Moscow resident died January 30, 2015 in New Port Beach, California. She was 54. Deanna was born July 31, 1960 in St. Maries, Idaho. She grew up in Moscow, attended local schools and graduated from Moscow High School in 1980. Deanna will be greatly missed by all who knew her, for her gentle heart was something to be admired. She never spoke ill of anyone and placed others above herself, no matter the circumstances. Deanna was an avid collector of porcelain dolls, and had amassed a collection of over 150. She was also a dog lover and was rarely seen without her companions. Her love for others shone with her crocheting skills as she would spend countless hours making blankets for others as gifts. After her mother, Willa Geffre, died in 2013, Deanna moved to Huntington Beach, CA to live with her brother Kent. Deanna flourished in California where she learned to ride a bike, and loved to spend time at the beach. Deanna was preceded in death by her parents Arnold and Willa. She is survived by her siblings Chip (Marie) Geffre of Asotin, WA, Donna Scarborough of Bend, OR, Scott Geffre of Genesee, Kevin Wilks of Moscow, Todd Geffre of San Francisco, CA, Kent Wilks of Huntington Beach, CA, and Kim Puryer of Seattle. The funeral service will be held Monday, February 9, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Short's Funeral Chapel in Moscow. Burial will follow at the Moscow Cemetery. A reception and time of fellowship will be at The CROSSing social hall afterward.
