Donna Hash

Donna Hash, age 83, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away at her home in Potlatch on Sunday, September 6, 2026. Born on July 27, 1943, in Colfax, Washington, Donna was the daughter of Archie and Helen Losell Gingrich. She grew up in the Kamiak Butte area just outside of Palouse, Washington, where she developed a lifelong love of farming and ranching, and graduated from Palouse High School in 1961.

Shortly after graduating, Donna married her beloved husband, Jack Hash, on June 17, 1961, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Together, they shared 52 years of marriage and a deep commitment to family. They welcomed their daughter, Jacquie, in 1965, followed by their son, Jeff, in 1966. Donna was a woman of many talents and a dedicated homemaker. She was an exceptionally skilled seamstress and found great joy in raising quarter horses. Throughout her life, she worked numerous jobs across the community, always bringing energy and dedication to her work. Her last and the funnest job she had was her last one, in fact, working up to the day before she passed, was working at Fugly's Porch in Princeton. She enjoyed the social aspect and loved bantering with all of the patrons, she was affectionately called “Ma Hash”. She was also a passionate sports fan, proudly cheering on the Seattle Seahawks and the Gonzaga Bulldogs. For years, she enjoyed being on a bowling team and playing pinochle with several of her friends.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Archie and Helen Gingrich; her husband, Jack Hash; an infant daughter, Julie; and her brother, Jim Gingrich.

She is survived by her daughter, Jacquie (Dan) Moore, and her son, Jeff (Bonnie) Hash. Her legacy lives on through her grandchildren, Dallas (Robbi) Hash, Wendell Hash, Randy (Samantha) Moore, Robby (Ashley) Moore; and her great grandchildren, Ruby, Nathan, Tyler, Leeroy, Jaxon, Jase, and Lawson. She also leaves behind her sisters, Cheri (Steve) Woodin and Janet Nelson, alongside numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss her dearly.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 25, 2026 at the Princeton Church of the Nazarene with covered dish dinner following in the fellowship hall.
