Dorothy Simpson

Dorothy Simpson (nee Reeves), 82, went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 23, 2024, surrounded by her family at her home in Moscow, Idaho.

She was born March 1, 1941, in Kansas City, Kansas, and spent her formative years growing up in Valley Park, Missouri. After graduating from Valley Park High School, her life took her to many places from Minnesota, to Nogales, Mexico, and then to Arizona, bringing three children into the world along the way. She moved from Arizona and settled in Clarkston, Washington in 2001 to be closer to family. She worked for many years at Stonebraker McQuary Insurance Agency until she retired. She moved to Moscow in 2017 to be with her daughter Anna Bishop and her family.

She had a great love of craft fairs, and always admired the creativity of others. She had an appreciation for beautiful things, whatever they would be – nature or trinket. She had the eye to see the beauty in anything. She surrounded herself, in her home, with these things she found beautiful, and cherished them. She looked at people in the same way. She was kind to everyone. Always sending warm wishes whether by card, a simple note online, or by text. But of all the things she found beautiful, the most beautiful to her was her family, who she surrounded herself with, and cherished, above all else. She was full of love as a mother and grandmother. Giving gifts was her love language, and she went to great lengths to always make holidays, birthdays, and occasions very special and memorable for her family – no matter how big or small, every occasion was a reason to celebrate with food, sweets, or a gift of some sort.

She is survived by her two sons Chris Simpson and his wife Pam, Tim Simpson and his wife Denise, and her daughter Anna Bishop and her husband Robert. As well as her six grandchildren: Tkacia (Rick) Fred, Mallory (James) Russell, Nick Simpson, Andrew (Sarah) Simpson, Rachel Simpson, and Brayden Bishop.

She is preceded in death by her parents Millard and Hester Reeves, and her brother Ron Reeves. As well as her beloved dogs, Missy and Daytona.
