Dwane Bert Benson

Dwane Bert Benson was born January 14, 1948 in Sacramento, California to Benny and Helen Henriksen Benson.The family moved back to Buhl, Idaho when he was 12. He graduated from Bull High School in 1966 and from the University of Idaho in 1970 and in 1972 he received his Master’s Degree in Food Science from the University of Idaho.

He married Connie Harriman in 1971. He worked for Pet Milk in Ohio for three years and then at Ore-Idaho foods in Ontario, Oregon for 36 years in research and development of new products. He was a member of the Methodist Church, Rotary of Moscow, Lambda Chi Alpha and the codger crew with Habitat for Humanity. He was a leader for his sons’s Boy Scout troop. He loved to downhill ski. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, and three children, Todd of Laurel, Montana, Joel of San Jose, CA and Audra of Troy, Idaho, 6 grandchildren and a sister Betty of Algonquin, Illinois. Donations in honorarium may be made to the Methodist Church of Moscow, Habitat for Humanity or the Humane Society of the Palouse or the charity of your choice.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday August 2, 2025 at The Moscow First United Methodist Church in Moscow.
