Eileen Giovannetti

January 18, 1921 — August 6, 2015

Eileen Mary Giovannetti, of Troy, died Thursday August 6, 2015 at Gritman Medical Center in Moscow. She was 94. Eileen was born January 18, 1921 in Cleveland, Ohio to Edward and Helena Sweeney. She was raised in Lakewood and attended local Catholic Schools, and Lakewood Junior College following high school. Eileen attended the National School of Radio Broadcasting. In order to help the war effort during WWII, Eileen worked as a troubleshooter for parker appliance, whom was making aircraft parts at the time. Eileen met and married Ed Giovannetti and moved to California. Ed and Eileen made their home in Picori Rivera CA. They later divorced. Eileen lived in California for 43 years before moving to Troy to be closer to her Son in 1990. She was and active parishioner and communicant of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Moscow, an avid golfer, swimmer and enjoyed camping. Eileen was preceded in death by her brother, Edward Sweeney, her son Edward Giovannetti and grandson Preston Giovannetti. She is survived by her daughter Sherry Bennyworth, 4 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. The rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 13 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Moscow. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday August 14, 2015, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Moscow with interment following at the Moscow Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations be made to St. Mary's Church - Catholic Women's League.
