Eldora Weeks

Eldora D. Weeks of Moscow died Monday, November 10, 2014 at Good Samaritan Moscow Village. She was 89. Eldora was born November 6, 1925 on the family farm on Little Bear Ridge between Troy and Kendrick to Ernest and Anna Johnson Bovencamp. She grew up there, attending the Yellow Rose Country School and Troy Schools. She went to work caring for children, and was married to Myrel Weeks on June 3, 1944 at Moscow. They made their home in Moscow where she was a homemaker and worked at various jobs. One of her favorite positions was in the kitchen as a cook for the Moscow School District during the 1970's. She also cared for children in her home. Eldora was an active member of Women's Aglow, a Christian women's group, and served as a table hostess. They attended Calvary Christian Center in Pullman and later Valley Christian Center in Lewiston. She enjoyed playing volleyball, camping, playing pinochle and traveling the Western United States, from Arizona to Alaska. She and Myrel attended numerous Moscow High School basketball games, and were honored for their dedication by the team. Surviving are her sons, Michael and Shirlene Weeks of Moscow and Dwayne and Linda Weeks of Pullman along with 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. She also leaves a brother, William "Earl" Bovencamp of Lewiston. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 65 years, Myrel, in 2009 and two brothers, Ray and Melvin Bovencamp. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, November 15, 2014 at 3:00 PM at Good Samaritan Moscow Village Main Lounge and a private burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Moscow. The family suggests memorials be made in her name to the Palouse Care Network, 1515 West A Street, Moscow, Idaho 83843 or to a charity of choice.
