Gary Heilman

Gary Heilman, a lifelong area resident, died Saturday evening, February 13, 2016 at his home in Troy. He was 64. Gary William Heilman was born July 9, 1951 at Moscow to William J. "Willie" and Rene "Shorty" Germer Heilman. Gary grew up and attended Moscow schools, graduating from Moscow High School in 1970. He attended North Idaho College for a time, then returned to Moscow to work in construction. He and Vicky Culton were married on June 20, 1987 at Coeur d'Alene. They moved to Troy in 1996. Gary enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing pool and woodworking. His family and friends were everything to him. He is survived by his wife, Vicky, of Troy; son Randy (Kayla) Heilman in Moscow and a daughter, Paige of Moscow, a granddaughter, Aaliyah and a grandson, Dean. He also leaves sisters, Brenda (Ken) Iverson of Moscow and Kim (Brad) Malm of Troy along with several nieces and nephews. Gary was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Craige in 2015. At his request, there will be no formal service. Memorials are suggested to the Humane Society of the Palouse or to Gentiva Hospice.
