Glenda R. Becker

July 8, 1935 — February 12, 2017

Glenda Ruth Hall Becker, age 81, died of natural causes on February 12, 2017. She was born on July 8, 1935 in American falls to the late Glenn and Gertrude Hall. She lived in Washington D.C. during World War II, and in Moscow, Idaho following the war. The Hall family settled permanently in Boise Idaho, where Glenda graduated from Boise High School and Boise Junior College. In 1955 Glenda enrolled at the University of Idaho and shortly thereafter met her future husband, Dale Becker. They were married in 1956 and moved to Genesee, where they remained lifelong residents. In Glenda's retirement years, she made a second set of close friends at Sun Up Bay Resort on Coeur d'Alene Lake. Her summers spent there gave her many peaceful moments, especially when her grandchildren came to visit. They were the lights of her life. Glenda is survived by her 5 children, Michael (Becky) of Clarkston WA, Melissa (Richard) Honsinger of Boise ID, Peter (Ruby) of Hailey ID, Steven (Nancy) of Genesee, ID and Andrew of Moscow, ID. In addition to her children she leaves behind 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Dale, and her sister Elizabeth Hall Shallman in 2005. The rosary will be held at 12:00 Monday February 20, 2017 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Genesee, followed by the funeral Mass at 12:30. Please join our family at a reception to be held at the Genesee Fire Hall, to begin immediately after a private graveside service. Memorials may be made to the Genesee Education Fund or the Genesee Fire and Ambulance Department. Services are under the direction of Short's Funeral Chapel, Moscow, and online condolences may be sent to www.shortsfuneralchapel.net.
