James Rodney Applonie

February 14, 1936 — August 31, 2017

An earthly orphan no longer, James Rodney Applonie has been reunited with his Parents; John David and Angie O'Brien Applonie, and siblings; Richard, John, Judy and Brien on August 31, 2017. Rod was born on February 14, 1936 in Ogden, Utah. He moved with his family to Spokane, Washington when he was 11 years old. He graduated from North Central High school 1954. In 1958 Rod married Peggy Gladys Shull in the Logan Temple, in Logan, Utah on February 14 which was also his birthday. He and Peggy picked that day so they would never forget their anniversary! Eight children followed the holy union of Rod and Peggy Applonie. Helen (Clynn) Wilker , Jackie Applonie, Amy (Mike) Wise, Roxie (Dave) DeCoria, Ed (Krysten) Applonie, Angie (Dan) Picard, Dene (Matt) Pancheri, Lt. Col. Stan (Kristi) Applonie. Rod has 34 grand-children and 14 great-grand-children, our family total is 74 amazing peeps! Our Dad loved his Family! He also loved loud music, fast cars, fireworks and great food! Our Dad hated funerals, so we aren't having one for him! However, our sadness and loss are demanding that we have a grave site service so that his family and friends get the chance to say, "Until we meet again" this will happen on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at the Lava Hot Spring Cemetery in Lava Hot Springs, Idaho. It will begin at 11 am and all are welcome to join us. In lieu of flowers, send fireworks! Arrangements have been entrusted to Short's Funeral Chapel of Moscow and condolences may be left at www.shortsfuneralchapel.com
