Janice K. Hess

Janice K Hess, age 70, of Moscow, Idaho, passed away of heart failure on April 24, 2025 surrounded by her loved ones. Before she departed, friends & family gathered to witness wedding vow renewals with Mic, devoted husband of 50 years.

Janice was born on February 24th, 1955 in Coeur D’Alene to Scott & Minnie Bomar. She grew up in Athol & Dalton Gardens, living most of her adulthood in Moscow, Idaho.

She is survived by the love of her life, husband of 50 years, Michael (Mic) Hess and their children Aaron & Amanda (Gottschalk) Hess and Rheanna (Hess) & Cris Burnham, and her grandchildren Elliot (12), Charlie (10), Baylin (11) & Jones (8).

She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, George Bomar and Ben Bomar, and sister Irene Waddell.

Janice worked as a loan officer for 15 years, and was widely known for in the community for her work with Rotary. Janice was passionate about helping those around her gain financial independence. She took great joy in guiding friends and loved ones to be able to purchase their first homes and other life changing assets.

Outside of work, she loved traveling and her “critters,” namely her horses and dogs. She was an animal whisperer!

Janice will be remembered for her kindness, sense of humor, Bomar stubbornness, work ethic and her devotion to family

A memorial service will be held on May 2, 2025 at Short’s Funeral Chapel at 2pm with Reception to follow at 1912 Center.
