Jon C. Fleischman

Jon Charles "Peg-Leg" Fleischman of Palouse died suddenly of a heart attack Friday, November 14, 2014 at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane. He was 62. Jon was born July 15, 1952 in Utica, NY to Richard F. and Cecelia Bird Fleischman. He grew up and attended school in Westbury, Long Island, NY, graduating from Clark High School. He married Denise Norman in April 1971 and they had 3 children. Jon worked at Honeywell in communications and security before starting his own business, "Burglar Busters". He and his family moved to Las Vegas in 1986 where he continued working in the Security Industry, where he owned and operated AAVIS Security. After a divorce in 1992, Jon and Susan Epstein Spacco were married in Las Vegas in 1993. Jon retired and they moved to Palouse 9 years ago. Jon enjoyed hunting and fishing, was an active member of the Palouse Lions Club. He will be remembered as an accomplished handyman (MacGyver) and his ability to build or fix almost anything, regardless of the battle wounds. Jon is survived by his wife, Susan and their four legged son "Briscoe" at their home in Palouse and his children, Jon J. (Trish) Fleischman of Henderson, NV, Leanne Fleischman of Las Vegas, NV, Scott Fleischman of Moscow, ID, and a step-son, Jamie (Helen Hoyt) Spacco of Galesburg, Illinois. He also leaves 11 grandchildren and 1 great grandson along with brothers, Richard of Las Vegas, James of Bristow, Virginia and Thomas of Poughkeepsie, NY and sisters, Karen Fox of Norman, OK, Lynda Lulek and Mary Ann Fleischman, both of Las Vegas as well as his former spouse Denise Hammer of Brookings, OR. A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, November 21, 2014 at the Palouse Grange beginning at 3:30 PM. The family suggests memorials be made to the American Heart Association or The Palouse Grange.
