Joe W Flury passed away in Moscow, Idaho on December 28, 2024.
Joe was born on August 17, 1939 the eldest of the three children of Walt and Adeline (Docherty) Flury in Olympia, WA. He grew up in the South Bay area. From 1956 to 1960 Joe served aboard the USS Kearsarge in the US Navy. He worked in the aviation industry for a short time. During that time he married Mary LaFond in 1963. They welcomed three children into their family. He joined the Carpenter's Union in 1964 and built the family home in South Bay. He later became a member of the Western Washington Mill Wright Union. Joe loved to spend time in his shop building furniture and bird houses. He enjoyed tinkering with anything "John Deere" green. After retirement they moved to a small farm on the Camas Prairie outside Grangeville, ID where he took great pride in his home.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by wife, Mary, his children, Walt Flury, Michelle Roberts, and Maureen Libra (Jim); siblings, Jack Flury (Leslie) and Jane Thompson (Bob), 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
His favorite saying was: "Good, better, best, never let it rest, until your good is better, and your better is best" which reflected his perfectionist nature.
