Joseph “Joe” Edward Poechmann died in his home on June 16th, 2024. He was born to Robert Poechmann and Joan Davis (Hubbard) on the fifth of May, 1969 in Omak, Washington. He graduated from Lewiston High School in 1987. One of his is first jobs was delivering pharmaceuticals through Airborne Express in Lewiston. He later worked for Harrington Construction with his uncle Bob, and most recently spent approximately 20 years working at Walmart.
In October of 2017, he married Karen Schnake. The two of them made their home in Moscow, Idaho, raising a son and daughter, David and Ashley.
Joe’s interests were extremely varied. He loved to garden and use the fruits of his orchard to nourish his family, but was also a fan of a good boxing match or Seahawks game. He loved a good game of chess, and also playing the guitar and rock music. His reading habits spanned many genres, from westerns to sci-fi. Also enjoyed watching manga with his daughter, with specific favorites in Hunter x Hunter, Jujutsu Kaisen. He loved to play Street Fighter 2 on the Nintendo and Left for Dead 2 on the Xbox with his son. But don’t be fooled, Joe was also a fan of the great outdoors, and loved going fishing and hunting as well.
Joe leaves behind his wife, Karen; his parents, Joan and Robert; stepfather Jim Thompson; children, David and Ashley; sister Jeanne Thomsen (Poechmann) and brother Jeremy Thompson.
