Judith "Judy" Tunnicliff

Judith Ann (Olsen) Tunnicliff, 84, of Moscow, passed away Friday, September 4, 2026 surrounded by her beloved family in her home. She was born January 9,1942, in Colfax, WA to Baylus and Isabelle Olsen. After graduating from Moscow High School she went on to attend and graduate from the University of Idaho in 1963. While attending school, Judy was active within her sorority and clubs. Judy married her high school sweetheart Robert P. Tunnicliff in 1964. Following graduation, Judy began teaching in Potlach, ID and later returned to Moscow Junior High as a reading teacher. She earned her Master’s in Education in 1987 and enjoyed her years teaching Idaho history, English, and Geography.

Judy fondly remembered her time traveling with family. She traveled to multiple countries, including Canada and Jamaica, the span of America from the Oregon Coast to Washington D.C., New York, Louisiana, California and beyond. She loved nothing more than her family and friends. Judy was a great friend, wonderful mother, and an incredible grandmother. She not only enjoyed teaching the next generations but helping her community through volunteer work at Gritman Medical Center, McConnell Mansion, and countless local sporting events.

Judy filled her free time with the activities she loved: playing bridge, quilting, knitting, reading mystery novels, enjoying cards and board games, and solving puzzles of every kind.

Judy is survived by her sister Paula Jo (Olsen) Broemmeling and her husband Edward, sister-in-law Susan Dell Edelblute; three children and seven grandchildren: daughter Kimberly Jo (Tunnicliff) LaNeve, her husband Christopher, and their children Caitlin and her husband Christian Austin, Nicholas and his fiancé Madison Hartman; son Trent Robert Tunnicliff, his wife, Stacy, and their children Baylus, Sean, and Grey; and daughter Kelli Tunnicliff Kludt, her husband Jason Price, her children Isabelle and Marin and their father Kirk Kludt. Judy was predeceased by her parents, her sister Colleen Wolter, and her former spouse Robert Parker Tunnicliff.

A viewing will be held September 16 from 3:00-7:00 at Short’s Funeral Chapel with the recitation of the Rosary at 6p.m.

A funeral mass will be held on September 17 at 2:00p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Moscow.
