Karen Waldron

August 2, 1938 — May 19, 2024

Karen went to be with her Lord and Savior May 19, 2024, at Palouse Hills Assisted Living at the age of 85. She was born on August 2, 1938, in Moscow, Idaho to Bill and Ruth Adams. Karen grew up in Deary and on Texas Ridge outside of Deary, attended school in Deary and Lewiston, and graduated from Lewiston High School in 1956. In high school Karen met Manley Waldron and they were married on September 29, 1956 in Lewiston. Their first two years of marriage were spent along Fishhook Creek at camp 44 where Manley drove logging truck for PFI. In 1958 they moved to Bovill and for the next five years alternated living between Avery and Bovill. In 1963 they bought a house and settled in Bovill, living there until moving to Moscow in 2022.

Karen worked for many years as the city clerk for the town of Bovill. Her main hobbies were crocheting, reading, painting, and genealogy.  Karen also loved spending time tending to her raspberries and being out in the woods picking huckleberries with family and friends. For many years the family attended the Bovill Presbyterian Church and enjoyed the Bovill Old Timers Picnic and Deary Day celebrations.

Karen was predeceased by her husband Manley, her parents, her sisters Joy Whitlock and Connie Adams, daughter Paula Winter, grandchildren John and Robert Townsend, and great grandchild Hannah Moore. Missing her each day are her children Bob (Debbie) Waldron, Dawn (Rob) Soumas, Susan (John) Townsend, son-in-law Fred (Tonya) Winter, and “adopted” daughter Julie Keevy. Karen is also survived by her sister Ruth Mary Wolvin, 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

There will be a celebration of Karen’s life later this summer. Arrangements have been entrusted to Shorts Funeral Chapel in Moscow. If you would like to make a memorial donation in Karen’s name, please donate to the Bovill Library or to your favorite charity.
