Lillian M. Mitzimberg, a former longtime Moscow resident, died Thursday, October 9, 2014 at Meridian Care, in Meridian, ID. She was 87. Lillian was born October 26, 1926 at Oakesdale, WA to Ira and Neva Hall Little. She attended various schools until moving to Moscow in 1938. She and Thomas M. Mitzimberg were married at Santa Ana, California on June 11, 1945. Lillian worked for Tri-State, Rollefson's Grocery and in 1969, went to work as a custodian for the University of Idaho until her retirement in 1988. She then worked for the J.C. Penny Store from September 1990 to September 1993. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, fishing and camping and picking huckleberries as well as spending time with her family. . She was an active member of the Moscow Church of the Nazarene. Husband Thomas Mitzimberg preceded her in death on October 23, 1994. Following his death she volunteered at the Moscow Library and at Clark House Assisted Living in Moscow. In 2000 she moved to Livingston, MT to be near her sister, Naomi returning to Moscow in 2001. She relocated to Caldwell in 2009 in an assisted living complex near her nieces June & Vivian & friend Jean. In addition to her husband, Lillian was preceded in death by two sisters Bertha and Mary Jane, a brother, Jack and a great grandson Andrew Leinweber. She is survived by her daughter, Jani Jason of Las Vegas, NV, her grandchildren, Robert Leinweber of Umatilla OR, Tammy Leinweber of Vancouver. WA, Scott Jason of DallasTX, and a great grandson, Jordan Leinweber-Berg USMC, and her sister, Naomi in Livingston, MT. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. at the Moscow Cemetery. Pastor Ed Eby of the Moscow Church of the Nazarene will officiate.
