Nick Bode

Nicholas 'Nick' A. Bode, of Moscow, ID, passed away on Tuesday, June 6, 2017. He was born on February 28, 1950 in Rhinelander, WI to Ruth (Hazle) and Nicholas H. Bode. Nick spent his childhood in Rhinelander before moving to Moscow in 1960 along with his parents and three brothers Bill, Tom and Rob. He attended St. Mary's Elementary School before attending Gonzaga Prep in Spokane & St. Martin's Prep in Lacey, WA. Nick had several passions in life including his wife and family, basketball, woodworking, coaching Babe Ruth baseball, whitewater rafting, being outdoors, cooking and playing guitar. Later in life he returned to watercolor painting and became very involved in the Palouse Watercolor Society. Nick was the co-owner of The Garden Lounge and the Moscow Hotel along with his brothers and worked in construction. He is survived by his wife Karen Hoffmann whom he married on November 26, 2003 and his children Cheratana Harmon, Silas Robbins, Genevieve Bode, Natalie 'Niki' Allen, Avery Bode, Amanda Hoffmann and grandchildren Sage, Maecie, Nyah, Tammany, Joseph, Madison, Carter and Virgil. He is also survived by his brothers Bill, Tom and Rob and their families. His son Tammany Robbins preceded him in death. A celebration of life Nick's life will be held at The Garden Lounge on Sunday, June 18th from 2:00 to 4:00 p,m., for friends and family 21-years old and over.
