Raymond Jones

Raymond F. Jones, 78, of Clarkston WA, died Sunday April 24, 2016 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston, ID. Ray is survived by many children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews and nieces. Born November 15, 1937 and raised in Genesee, ID, to Glen L. and Reta J. Clark Jones. Ray joined the USAR after graduating from Genesee High School in 1957. He married Nancy Conrady on September 2, 1961. While stationed at Mather Air Force Base, they settled in Rancho Cordova, CA. After Nancy's passing in 1994, he married Katherine "Kay" Cotton on April 11, 1998. Ray continued his career, to serve our country and retired from the Army National Guard & The Sargent Majors Association. Ray and Kay moved on to Lewiston, ID around 2008. After a few years they settled in Clarkston, WA, where Kay passed in 2014. He is also preceded in death by his sister Gladys Wommack in 2015. Ray was an active member of The Sargent Majors Association, Elks, Eagles Lodge, and other local clubs. He enjoyed photography, traveling (especially Cruises), rafting, watching the sunrise and sunset, a nice ice cold "Bud" while laughing with friends over a good joke, spending time with the many cats' he loved and cared for over the years, including "Sally" his Mexican Red-Knee Tarantula. A celebration of Ray's life, will be held in Clarkston, WA and Sacramento, CA. Family and friends will be notified of date, time and location. Memorials can be made to Wounded Warriors or Shriners Hospital for Children.
