Ronald J David

Ronald Jamieson David passed away on 10/24/23.  He was a wonderful husband and a great friend.

Ron was born to Homer and Helen David on Feb. 1, 1955, in Boise ID. He lived in Freemont, California until his mother’s passing when Ron was eight years old. The family moved to Moscow, ID  in 1967. He attended school in Moscow and graduated from Moscow High School. After high school, Ron entered the Automotive Technical School at Lewis-Clark State College and graduated in 1977.  While in High School, he met the love of his life, Karla. They started dating in 1973 and were married in 1980.  They had been married for 41 years.  Ron and Karla never had children, so they built their life together, enjoying camping, boating, and working in the yard.

Ron was a tinkerer. He loved working on old machines and bringing them back to life. He loved beer and enjoyed collecting beer memorabilia. His bar in his basement was a museum for his friends and family. Many parties broke out in the basement and many stories could be told. He loved knowledge, fixing problems and working on mechanical things. His passions were his wife and collecting old things.

After Karla’s passing in 2021, Ron was heartbroken for the loss. He kept his courage and passion for life. He was hard to be around sometimes, but when you got to know him, he was a great friend. He was a wonderful husband and brother, and he loved life. He was fun to be around and had a great sense of humor. Toward the end of his life his four main friends took care of him. He was a good person, and to have known him has enriched all our lives; he will be missed. Ron is survived by his sister, Nancy Harris, of Raylee, GA. As per Ron’s wishes, there will be no memorial service.
