Siloam Fiorillo

July 18, 2015 — December 27, 2016

Siloam Cathryn Fiorillo, age 17 ½ months, passed away peacefully in the morning on December 27th, 2016 at her home in Moscow, Idaho. She was born on July 18th, 2015 at Deaconess Medical Center in Spokane, Washington. Siloam was born with Down Syndrome, Esophageal 'Long gap' Atresia, (a congenital condition where a 5 cm gap existed between the top and bottom ends of Siloam's Esophagus), and heart deformities. In total, Siloam spent 364 days at Sacred Heart Medical center, from the second day of her life until her first birthday. She received seven surgeries in total. Due to a code following one of the surgeries, severe brain damage occurred, causing her to be unable to wean from the narcotics she needed for her surgeries. Siloam spent her last five ½ months at home being loved and cherished by her family and friends. Despite her difficulties, her smiles were contagious, she loved to play, and since even moving her limbs with intention was difficult for her, she taught us to take joy in the simplest of accomplishments. Her smiles taught us optimism in the direst of circumstances. God, through Siloam's struggle, taught us the art of profound thankfulness. She died of neurological complications, but not before spending Christmas with her family at home for the first and last time. It was a day blessed by God. She will be sorely missed. Siloam is survived by her Parents, Jonathan and MaryAnn Fiorillo; brothers, Lance and Nathan; Sister, Felicia; Grandparents, Cathy and Mike Ensley, and Carolyn Fiorillo; as well as numerous great-grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles. Siloam is preceded in death by her Grandpa, Michael Fiorillo. The family asks that any charitable donation be given to Mercy Ships, PO box 1930, Lindale, TX 75771 (mercyships.org). Family, Friends, and others whom Siloam's life has touched are invited to Short's Funeral Chapel, 1225 E. 6thSt. in Moscow, Idaho, Thursday, January 5th at 11:00 A.M. A private graveside service will be at the Moscow Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Crossing Church, 715 E. Travois Way, Moscow, ID. Online condolences may be sent to www.shortsfuneralchapel.net.
