Stephen H. Meyer

Stephen H. Meyer, 85, passed away peacefully on Sunday July 26, 2025, from complications of dementia.

Steve was born in Colfax on July 13, 1941 to Leo and Eva Meyer. He was raised on a farm 2 miles outside of Colton Washington, with his sister, Dorothy and brother, Jerry. He attended grade school at Guardian Angel-St. Boniface and graduated from Colton High School in 1958. After high school, Steve went to work for the University of Idaho Plant Science farm on the Troy Road, retiring from UI in 2002. Steve also farmed along side his father, growing wheat and later Billy Beans (a small garbanzo). In Genesee, on February 2, 1963, Steve married his sweetheart Linda Hynes. Together, they bought their forever home in Moscow Idaho where they raised their son, Mark. Steve was very active in St. Mary's Catholic parish, loved farming and enjoyed having coffee with friends.

Steve was preceded in death by his wife Linda, his parents, Eva and Leo, sister-in-law Nancy, brother-in-laws Denny Hynes and Jack Nichols.

Steve is survived by his son, Mark Meyer, sister Dorothy Nichols and brother Jerry Meyer as well as many nieces and nephews who thought the world of him.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday August 6 at 1:00 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Moscow Idaho.
