Susan Dee "Sue" Jordan, 75, of Moscow, Idaho, passed away Saturday, August 1, 2026 at Paradise Creek Care Facility in Moscow. Her two daughters and her son-in-law were by her side when she left this world.

A memorial service and celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 4th, 2026, at Short's Funeral Chapel in Moscow.

Sue was born Susan Dee Rigney on March 23, 1951, in Boise, Idaho - a birthday she shared with her beloved mother. She was the daughter of Walter Douglas Rigney and Idessa Rose Peerman Rigney and one of their six children. She grew up in Boise and graduated from Borah High School in 1969. In 1977 she moved to Lewiston, Idaho where many knew her as Sue Cook, and later made her home in the Moscow area, where she lived for many years.

A loving and caring mother, Sue raised her two daughters Susan and Penny. She often said her greatest accomplishment was that her children grew up to be good people. She extended that same warmth to to many foster children in the 1980s and early 1990s. In later years her greatest treasures were her grandsons, Tommy Skinner and Brady Skinner. She spent as much time with them as she could and they were pure joy to her.

Sue loved people, friends, family, and a good time. She was spirited, loved a party, and loved music and dancing. She delighted in being outdoors, especially in the sun, and enjoyed spending time on her porch visiting with neighbors and friends. She had fond childhood memories of her grandparents, aunts and uncles, family, horses, and camping adventures. In more recent years she befriended and cared for a stray cat named Kitty. Animals loved her very much. In her younger years she enjoyed the mountains, rivers, lakes, streams, camping, waterskiing, and lounging by a pool. Peace and nature always soothed her spirit.

She lived for 14 years at Creekside Seniors Apartments in Moscow, where she made many cherished friends. The last 15 months of her life she lived at Paradise Creek Care Facility, where she cared about many people and formed a special bond with her roommate and dear friend Judy.

Sue is survived by her daughters, Susan Cook (Debbie Hamilton) of Portland, Oregon and Penny Skinner (Tim Skinner) of Potlatch, Idaho; her grandsons Tommy Skinner and Brady Skinner, both from Potlatch; her sisters, Rebecca (Becki) Henderson and Sharon Rigney, both of Boise; her brother, Kevin Rigney of Boise; many cherished nieces and nephews, her dear roommate Judy; and a wide circle of friends who loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Idessa Rigney; her brother, Michael Rigney of Lewiston; and her sister, Sandra (Sandy) Leiby of Boise.

Her love, laughter, and lively spirit will live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her.
