Tom Taylor

January 25, 1947 — December 18, 2025

Tom Taylor, a devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandfather, passed away on December 18, 2025, at the age of 78. Surrounded by family, his passing marks the end of an era—one filled with dedication, integrity, and unwavering love.

Tom was the heart and soul of his family—strong, loyal, and endlessly supportive. His presence was a constant source of comfort and guidance to those who loved him. To his friends and colleagues, he was a man of honesty and passion, a person who believed in doing things the right way, no matter the circumstances.

As the owner of Chipman and Taylor Chevrolet, Tom's business was more than just a career—it was his calling. Chevrolet was his brand, and he poured his heart and soul into every aspect of his dealership. Through decades of hard work, leadership, and care for his customers and employees, Tom built not only a thriving business but a community of trust, pride, and respect. His name became synonymous with integrity, and his legacy as a businessman will live on long after him.

But above all else, Tom was a family man. He cherished his 56-year marriage to his wife, Gloria, and they built a life together that was full of love, laughter, and mutual respect. As a father, Tom led by example, teaching his daughters, Tonia and Tina, the values of hard work, loyalty, and perseverance. As a grandfather, he was adored by his five grandchildren—Landon, Carter, Olivia, Alex, and Kaden. His grandchildren described him simply as "awesome"—a man full of warmth, wisdom, and a quiet joy that made every moment spent with him feel special.

Born on January 25, 1947, in Fort Collins, Colorado, Tom grew up in Viola, Idaho, alongside his parents, Bill and Lucy Taylor, and his three sisters. A proud graduate of Moscow High School, where he laid the foundation for a life of hard work and dedication. Tom began his career working for Everett Will Tractor and Wally Orvik’s before joining forces with Bill Chipman to open Chipman and Taylor Chevrolet in 1986.

When not working, Tom could often be found in his shop, restoring cars, or enjoying the great outdoors. He loved skiing, drag racing, camping, and boating—activities he shared with his family and friends, creating memories that will be cherished forever.

Tom is survived by his loving wife, Gloria, daughters Tonia (and her husband James Dixon, and their three children: Landon, Carter, and Olivia) and Tina (and her husband Fran Amend, and their two children: Alex and Kaden). He is also survived by his two sisters, Pat Taylor and Rose Padilla, and his many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. He was predeceased by his beloved sister Annie Taylor.

Tom will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy of love, hard work, and community will live on in the hearts of those he touched.

A private family graveside will be held at the Moscow Cemetery.

A “Life Celebration” will be held January 17th at the Best Western in Moscow Idaho 1:00 - 4:00.

Rest in peace, Tom. You will always be remembered, always loved, and always missed.
