Vivian Lee Uhlir of Moscow, and a life-long Bovill resident, died Friday, May 29, 2015 at Good Samaritan Moscow Village. She was 87. Vivian was born October 2, 1927 at Bovill to Byers and Clara Ann (Beck) Sanderson. She grew up and attended school at Bovill and was valedictorian of the first combined class of Bovill and Deary High School in 1946. She went to work as a cook in the logging camps and later owned Bailey's Café in Bovill. Later she went to work as a custodian at the University of Idaho for 30 years, driving into town working the night shift. She and Kenneth Uhlir were married in 1949 and divorced after 25 years of marriage. Vivian enjoyed entertaining, cooking, church and family gatherings. Surviving are her daughter, Elizabeth "Liz" (Ken) Way of Moscow and a son, Kenleigh Uhlir of Bovill, along with 4 grandchildren, Deanna, Kenny, Trisha and Michael and 7 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Byers, Laud and Max, and a sister, Lois. A memorial service will be held Friday, June 19, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Moscow Church of the Nazarene. A reception and luncheon will follow in the church fellowship hall. The family suggests memorials be made to the Missions Fund at the Moscow Nazarene Church.
