Wayne Schwenne

Wayne David Schwenne, age 87, passed away on Thursday evening, June 15th, 2017 in Lewiston, Idaho. Wayne was born on Moser Road near Genesee on January 14th, 1930 to Otto and Minnie (Reif) Schwenne. After graduating high school in 1948, Wayne served in the United States Army during the Korean War in Washington and California. Wayne married Jeanette Vandenburg in 1950 and together they had two sons. Wayne worked as a farmer and rancher in Genesee, Idaho and also ran cattle on ground in Grangemont and Kendrick. Wayne was a member of the Elk's Club and the Nez Perce County Sheriff's Posse for over six decades. He will be remembered as a talented horseman who enjoyed a good game of cards. Wayne was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Jeanette Schwenne. He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Mary Schwenne of Genesee and Max and Ellen Schwenne of Eagle River, Alaska; and by 5 grandchildren: Bridget, Kate, Travis, Tasha and Nicholas Schwenne.
