Wayne W. Wilson

January 24, 1927 — February 2, 2024

Well-known farmer Wayne Wendell Wilson, 97, passed away in peace on February 2nd at 3am at the Idaho State Veterans Home in Lewiston.

He was born January 24th, 1927, in Ferndale, WA to Alonzo C. and Margaret Ruth (Russel) Wilson.

The family moved to Big Bear Ridge near Kendrick in 1933.

Wayne served in the US Navy during WWII.  Following his discharge he returned to Big Bear Ridge, where he continued to farm with his dad and brother.

He married Glenda Graham in 1969 after she answered a want ad in the paper.

In addition to farming, Wayne was an avid reader of the newspaper, taking it in cover to cover on a daily basis.  He had a sharp mind and a mean poker hand, since he counted cards.  He loved ice cream and entertaining you with his harmonica, which he always carried in his shirt pocket.

Wayne joins his parents, brother Jay Dee, sister Leona, and nephew Eldon in passing; he is survived by his great-nephew Lonny and many nieces and nephews from Glenda’s side.

A memorial will be held on Friday, February 9th at 11am at the Kendrick VFW building.  Graveside service to be held on Tuesday, February 13th at 2pm at the Fairmount Memorial Park in Spokane.

Memorials are suggested to be directed to the Kendrick-Julietta Ambulance Fund.
