Pastor William Robert Quaade, Sr., passed from his earthly home, surrounded by family, on June 26, 2025, and is now in his heavenly home, surrounded by family and friends.
Bill was born in Seattle, Washington on November 19, 1951 to Eve Torn Flores and Hans Peter Quaade. He was a mischievous lad who loved westerns. He and his friends were playing in the woods one afternoon and he thought it would be cool to light an arrow on fire and shoot it into the woods. Not surprisingly, the woods caught fire! Bill met Marianne Petrie in junior high school. She was 13 years old when he first proposed to her…she laughed…but six years later on August 6, 1972 they were married. Soon after they moved to Whatcom County where Bill began his law enforcement career. This is where his three children were born in Bellingham: Jenifer Marie, Joshua Frederick, and William “Chip” Robert, Jr. Bill served as a police officer in Blaine, Washington for four years before becoming a King County Sheriff’s Deputy for 16 years. While serving in Blaine, he received the Washington State Police Officer of the Year and the Medal of Valor for pulling a young girl out of a burning car (the car literally exploded seconds later, our dad rocks!!). Bill loved working for the King County Sheriff’s Department. He served in several units: Patrol, Traffic, Detective, Motorcycles, SWAT/Sniper, and Narcotics. Unfortunately, while responding to an Officer Needs Assistance call, his patrol car went on a short flight and had a rough landing. Bill suffered a back injury, which ultimately resulted in his retirement. Following several surgeries and a move to Republic, Washington, God called Bill to the ministry. After three years of in-depth study, he was ordained a Pastor of the Gospel at Liberty Baptist Church on June 30, 2001, where he served as Associate Pastor. This was so fitting for the man who always wanted to serve others. Due to ongoing health issues, on the advice of his cardiologist (who gave Bill six months to a year of life left), he and Marianne moved to Princeton, Idaho in July, 2006 to be near family. Well, God had other plans for Bill. Six months after moving to Princeton he was installed as the Pastor of White Pine Baptist Church, where he humbly served for 16 years. Bill loved the outdoors…hunting, fishing, riding his horses, mule, and motorcycles (as a member of the Northwest Wings Drill Team he rode his Honda Aspencade in parades throughout the tri-state region), camping, exploring, and spending time with family.
Bill is survived by his wife of nearly 53 years, Marianne; his daughter Jeni (Pat), his son Josh (Jill), and his son Chip (Jen); and his nine grandchildren: Eve, Jacob, Isabelle (Shadd), Liza, Hadi, Casen, Aeris, and Liam. He was preceded in death by his sister, Vicki; his father, Pete; and his loving mother, Eve.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at 11:00 am at Trinity Baptist Church, 711 Fairview Dr., Moscow, Idaho, 83843, with a reception to follow at the church. The family held a private graveside service on July 1.
Those who wish to express appreciation for Pastor Bill, may make a donation to White Pine Baptist Church, P.O. Box 9483, Moscow, ID 83843.
