Aaron Heath Obituary

Aaron D. Heath, a devoted family man and avid outdoorsman is finally free to do the things he loved.  Aaron died Sunday, November 18 after battling ALS for 2 years.

Aaron was born to Michael and Judy Heath on April 15, 1978.  As a young child he grew up in Texas chasing horney toads and catching rattle snakes with his brothers.  The family moved back to Troy for a few years and then went to Alaska where Aaron attended middle school and began wrestling.  During high school Aaron realized Idaho is where his heart belonged, so he moved back and lived with his Grandma Vada while going to high school.

During high school Aaron enjoyed playing football, running track, and spending time with his friends.  The week after he graduated Aaron started working for Idaho Cedar Sales where he was committed to his job for 16 years and made many lifelong friends.  For the past 5 years Aaron decided to change things up and went to work at Clearwater Paper.  It is always shared that Aaron was one of the hardest workers and made a huge impression on those around him.

In 2009, Aaron married the love of his life, Jennifer Funke.  Together they lived life to the fullest.  They had three wonderful children who became Aaron’s whole world.  There is nothing he loved more than watching and coaching his kids.  Aaron coached t-ball, youth football, and AAU basketball.  Aaron attended every sporting event he possibly could.  He cherished the days he could watch Cooper play baseball, Graci play basketball, and Colten play football.

If Aaron wasn’t in a gym, on a football field, or at the baseball field, he was in the woods, at a creek, or at the lake.  Camping, hunting, and fishing with friends and family is what Aaron loved most of all.

Aaron is survived by his family including:  his loving wife, Jennifer and his amazing children Colten, Graci, and Cooper.   His parents - Mike and Judy; his brothers Jason (Heidi, Hanna, and Tyler) and Travis (Kami, Aiden, Bryce and Courtney).  His Grandma Betty Dahl and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.  He is also survived by his in-laws Larry and Debbie Funke, Tyrel Funke (Megan, Hunter, and Kolby), and Kyle Funke.  And so many more, that he made a lasting impression on.

A memorial service will be held at the Deary High School Gym on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at 11:00am.  Followed by a dinner at the Deary Community Center.

In Lieu of flowers, the family suggests the memorials in Aaron’s honor be made to the Teresa Clampitt ALS Scholarship Fund c/o Deary High School P.O. Box 9, Deary, ID 83823
