Obituary

Andrew Joseph Peck was born on October 27, 1989,  in Colorado Springs, Colorado to Dennis and Jean Peck, and grew up in Cripple Creek, Colorado. He was homeschooled through his senior year of high school and went on to attend college for three years at Colorado State University. In December 2017, Andrew moved to Israel to serve in mission work with Shevet Achim. Then, in August 2018, he took a job at Anglican International School in Jerusalem as the facility manager.

Andrew met his beloved Nadia during his time working in Israel and they married on July 5, 2018, in Salida, Colorado. On August 2, 2019, they welcomed their precious daughter Noam into the world. He spoke frequently about how blessed and grateful he was that God brought Nadia into his life, and how she is so much more than he ever knew to even ask for. Andrew found such joy in being Noam’s daddy and they had a very close and special relationship. He was her beloved "Abba" and he loved her fiercely. Their family left Israel and moved to Colorado in June 2020. They moved from Buena Vista, CO, to Moscow, ID, in May 2023.

Andrew was an avid outdoorsman, a skilled marksman, and an incredibly talented craftsman. He had been an artist and creator since childhood. Whether with pencil and paper or wood and stone, he loved designing, building, and creating beautiful and useful things. Over the years he held several jobs in both ranching and construction and was a skilled carpenter. Most recently, he worked at Forged Construction in Moscow, Idaho as a project manager of residential construction. He was a loyal and dependable friend; always quick to help, fix, and rescue. Many knew he was one to call in times of need, knowing he would drop everything to come.

Andrew committed his life to Christ at an early age and was faithfully involved in churches and small groups wherever he lived. He had a steadfast and tender heart for the Lord and through joys and trials he had a deep hunger to hear from God and walk in truth. He was a fierce protector and defender of the weak, hurting, or vulnerable.

For some time Andrew had battled depression and had been taking good steps to address it and reach out for help. Sadly, he briefly lost sight of the immense hope we have in Christ and of the deep love of his family and community and on September 4, 2023 he took his own life.

Andrew is survived by his wife Nadia, his daughter Noam, his parents, Dennis and Jean Peck, his four siblings, their families, his mother-in-law, and his sisters-in-law.

A funeral service will be held in Chalmers Hall at Christ Church in downtown Moscow, ID on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. He will be immediately taken to Buena Vista, CO, to be buried on family land. A memorial service in Buena Vista at the end of October is being planned. Details will be shared at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to this GoFundMe account in support of Nadia and Noam: https://gofund.me/7190af7e
