Donna Jean Lucas

Donna Jean Lucas, passed away on August 8, 2021 in Moscow, Idaho. She was born Nov. 11, 1936 to Robert V. Park and Hattie K. Parks.  Donna grew up in Spokane, WA, where she and her best friend Bev McIntosh were mischievous in school. She married Wilbur (Luke) Lucas in 1958, they were happily married for 57 years.

Donna loved watching the wildlife and listening to the water at their Hood Cannel cabin, spending time with Luke and their friends in Arizona, and with her children and grandchildren. She valued and appreciated her friends.  She went back to college in her forties to become an LPN, so she would be able to help people. She always wanted to be a nurse and joked “they discovered DNA” since her time in college in the 1950’s.  She discovered traveling in her later years and remembered her travel to the Middle East and Europe, and U.S. cities fondly.

She will be remembered for her kindness, humor, smile, fashion sense, and a little “sass”.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Hattie, her brother Bobbie, and husband Luke.  She is survived by her daughters Kimi (Patrick) of Moscow, ID, Julie, grandchildren Sabina and Justin, of Seattle, and Karen (Jon), grandchildren Zamora and Sehoya of Seattle.  A celebration of life service will be held at a time to be determined.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to charities supporting newborn and young children’s health.
