Obituary

James (Jim) Martin Gress was born July 16, 1939, in Dickinson, North Dakota to John and Angelina (Krank) Gress.  He passed away peacefully at his home, in Moscow, on July 2, 2023.

Jim raised his family in San Diego, California, Julie (Steve, his favorite son-in-law), Jim Jr., Rick and Jennifer.  He had a long and successful career in land development and home building in San Diego before moving to North Idaho around 1995.  He came to love Moscow and considered it his home.  While in Moscow he continued his success in developing Quail Run, Park View, and developed, owned, and managed Rodeo Mall.

Jim had a passion for golf, travel, time spent with family and friends and of course, beautiful women!  He was known as Gentleman Jim by the ladies.

Jim was preceded in death by his daughter Jennifer and his parents.  He is survived by his other children, 5 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and his many wonderful friends.  A celebration of life will be held at the Best Western University Inn on Saturday, August 19th at 4 pm.  Please join the family with your memories and stories.
