Ruth Ella (Jones) Kirkland passed away on May 11, 2019 at Gritman Medical Center in Moscow. She was 101.

 Ruth was born on July 4, 1917 in Placerville, Idaho to Henry Franklin and Ella Mae Jones. She graduated High School in Parma, Idaho and soon after obtained her nursing degree. She was a nurse in both Idaho and Washington and spent the last twenty-eight years of her nursing career in Kent, Washington. Ruth loved her family and gardening.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, late husband, Bob Kirkland, two sisters, Edna Foster and Ilene West, two sons, two sons-in-law, one grand-daughter, one grandson, and one great grandson.

She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Knowles of Florida, Elaine Meyer of Missouri, seven grand-children, twelve great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. One niece, Dorothy Swenson (Deary), two great nieces, Tami (Curtis) Cyr, Michelle (Randy) Doty, one nephew, Greg (Deb) Swenson. She is also survived by her nephews, Gordon (LeElla) Day, Don (Wendy) West, Doug (Shelley) West, and one niece, Verona (Whitey) Olmsted. In addition to many great-great and great-great-great nieces and nephews. Her family will love and miss her dearly.

A memorial service will be held Friday, May 17, 2019, at 2:00 pm at the Deary Community Bible Church and inurnment will follow at Pinecrest Cemetery in Deary. Pastor Matt Hallson will officiate the service.

 In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be donated to the Deary Ambulance Fund.
