Thomas Harner Obituary

Thomas Edward Harner, two year old son of Arch and Cat Harner of Moscow, passed away on Wednesday evening, April 10, 2019, at Providence Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital in Spokane.

Thomas was born December 8, 2016, in Moscow. Days after his birth, Thomas was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, which would require years of chemotherapy, transfusions, immunotherapy, and a bone marrow transplant. While much of his two years, four months, and two days were spent inpatient at Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital and Seattle Children’s Hospital, Thomas was very happy, loving, and above all, strong. The family deeply feels the loss of what could have been, but they also will forever remember the beauty that Thomas found in and brought to the world. He loved playing with his siblings, being outside, going on walks, watching the movie Cars, playing with playdough, popping bubbles, driving cars, snuggling and tickles, painting, and eating Cheetos and toaster waffles. He loved life, and we will forever honor his. #foreverTOMMYstrong

In addition to his parents, Archibald and Catherine, Thomas is survived by his brothers, Russell (8) and Jackson (6), and his sister, Juliana (4), along with grandparents Leone Harner of Troy, Montana, and Russell Watjen of Savannah, Georgia, aunts and uncles Emily and Sean Dorigo, Heather Boyd and Mark Watjen, as well as numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by grandparents Warren Harner and Martha Watjen.

The open memorial service will be held Wednesday, April 17 at 1:00pm, at the First United Methodist Church in Moscow with Rev. Debbie Sperry officiating. Burial will follow at the Moscow Cemetery.
